Accelerated Math
St. Mary Magdalene Catholic School offers an Accelerated Math program for our Middle School students. The Math programs offered are Math 6, Math 7, Math 8, Math I, and Math II.
A grade level progression would be Math 6 as a sixth grader, Math 7 as a seventh grader, and Math 8 as an eighth grader. A possible Accelerated Math progression would be Math 7 as a sixth grader, Math I as a seventh grader, and Math II as an eighth grader. After looking at all of the tools to evaluate a student’s readiness for Math, the Math team will make a recommendation for your child’s success.
Evaluation for the Accelerated Math program includes:
- Teacher Recommendation
- Standardized Test Scores (e.g. EOG Math/ELA scores, IOWA, etc.)
- Previous Math course completion and grades
- St. Mary Magdalene Math Placement exam
