Reopening Plan for K - 8
Saint Mary Magdalene Catholic School’s Campus Reopening Plan includes information on our plans to open our school with reasonably safe measures in place. These will require everyone’s participation and support. Our goal is to do our part with these measures in the hopes of greatly reducing the risk of virus transmission within the school setting. In the event of a positive case in the school, our school will follow the instructions of the North Carolina Department of Health and Diocese of Raleigh. We need to be prepared for this, and for everyone to know in advance how it will be managed.
In light of all current information and with the health and well-being of our community our top priority, our school will open the year in Plan B on August 20. We will await communication from the State of North Carolina and Diocese of Raleigh when they feel we can move to Plan A, or if a move to Plan C is necessary based upon current health conditions in our area. All plans are outlined in this document and the FAQ for distance learning.
This plan has involved the hard work and dedication of many people from our Saint Mary Magdalene Community. You will find their names within this document. We would like to once again express our gratitude for your time and willingness to help in this endeavor. The school has also used the following agencies for direction in the creation of this plan: The Centers for Disease Control, North Carolina Governor’s Office, the Diocese of Raleigh Office of Catholic Schools, and the North Carolina Health Department. The safety of our students and faculty has always been at the center of this plan as we reopen for the 2020-21 school year. We will continue to work with these organizations daily to ensure the safety of all Monarchs.
