MONARCH READING ADVENTURES

We are excited to introduce StMM’s Summer Reading Program!  Did you know that reading for just 15 minutes per day will greatly improve your child’s reading skills and boost confidence while helping to prevent the dreaded “summer slide”?

We are asking your child to read one required book and complete a postcard before returning to school in August. Simply turn it in at the front office over the summer or bring it on your first day of school as your “entrance ticket” to reading! The book titles that have been selected by your Monarch teachers will connect to the novels, themes, units, or standards that will be taught during the 1st nine weeks of the 22-23 school year.

Of course, we encourage your child to read as many books as they can! If they need suggestions, we have posted an Enrichment Reading List along with printable postcards, should they feel inspired to complete extra!

We can’t wait to check out the postcards the students complete and look forward to the reading discussions that will kick off the 22-23 school year! Feel free to connect with us sooner by sharing your #MonarchReadingAdventures on social media and tagging us!
